Windows 8/8.1 Wireless Setup

Configuring Windows 8 for WSU Wireless

  1. First move your mouse up into the upper right hand corner of your screen. Make sure that the mouse is all of the way up there. You know you have done this correctly if you see a vertical black bar appear and a set of five (5) options, SEARCH, being the top icon (the magnifying glass) and START being the middle.
  2. Move your cursor straight down the bar, being careful not to move outside of it.
  3. Click on the SETTINGS button
  4. The settings quick menu should appear.

You should now see the wireless options in the bottom portion next to SOUND and above NOTIFICATIONS. Click on it.
  5. You should now be able to see your wireless access points. Depending on your location, you may see WSU Wireless or WSU ResNet; click either. Both use the same credentials.

If you also select "Connect Automatically" the computer will remember your credentials and sign into whichever is strongest.
  6. Now enter your WSU credentials and password. These will be the same as your MyWSU login and click "OK".

*In case the computer asks, click connect. DO NOT HIT THE ENTER OR RETURN KEY. This will terminate the process, and you will have to start over.
  7. You should now be logged in on the network.
